Soft & Fluffy Garlic Naan

Making your own naan at home is surprisingly easy and far better than the store-bought versions. The secret is the yogurt, which keeps the bread soft and gives it that signature tangy flavor.
Soft & Fluffy Garlic Naan
Yields: 6ā8 Naans | Cook time: 15 mins

Ingredients
Ingredient | Amount | Purpose |
All-Purpose Flour | 2 cups | The base of the bread. |
Instant Yeast | 1 tsp | For that beautiful rise and airy bubbles. |
Sugar | 1 tsp | Feeds the yeast and helps with browning. |
Warm Water | ½ cup | Activates the yeast (approx. 100°Fā110°F). |
Greek Yogurt | ¼ cup | Makes the dough soft and tender. |
Ghee or Oil | 2 tbsp | Adds richness to the dough. |
Salt | ½ tsp | For essential flavor. |
Melted Butter | For brushing | The finishing touch after cooking! |

Instructions
Activate Yeast:Ā Mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5ā10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
Mix & Knead:Ā Add the flour, salt, yogurt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Knead for about 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and slightly tacky.
Rise:Ā Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hourĀ (or until doubled in size).
Shape:Ā Divide the dough into 6ā8 balls. Roll each one out into an oval shape, about ¼ inch thick.
Cook:Ā Heat a cast-iron skillet or non-stick pan over high heat. Place the dough on the dry pan. When bubbles start to form on top (about 1 minute), flip it over.
Char:Ā Cook the other side for 30ā60 seconds until you see charred brown spots.
Finish:Ā Immediately brush with the garlic butter and sprinkle with cilantro.

Pro Tips for the Best Naan
The Bubbles:Ā Don't press the dough down while it's cooking! Those air bubbles are what create the soft, light texture.
High Heat:Ā The pan needs to be very hot. If the heat is too low, the naan will become tough and dry instead of soft and charred.
